First!

Hi,

What is so special, unique, and groundbreaking about this blog?  Absolutely nothing.  I don't plan to talk about life, justice, or the pursuit of happiness - unless it relates to food.  The only reason I'm starting this blog is to have a place to post all of the pictures I take of my adventures with food and provide my unthoughtful analysis of the stuff I consume.  Again - why?  Well, why the hell not?  Everyone likes food and I like the pictures I take of food so I thought I would share them with the world!

This weekend I'm hanging out in the Greater Los Angeles Area so the opportunities for good food are plentiful.

So our first picture today is brought to you by Spiro's Restaurant in Orange, CA:
Two eggs, bacon, half plate of hash browns and toast.  Overall the food was good.  Bacon could have been a bit softer, but I always like it when a restaurant provides you with ample potatoes on the side.  Much appreciated.  Spiro's is an independent alternative to Denny's with a vast breakfast menu, huge burgers, and pretty much all of the essentials (plus Greek) for good prices.  If you're in the Orange area I'd check it out.

Up next is from Islands in Valencia, CA:

The Toucan; chicken breast with Teriyaki sauce and pineapple.  I was a little wary at first with the fruit since I've never been a big fan of pineapple, but elected to give it a go just to see.  As messy as the sandwich was, it was pretty good with the chicken cooked nicely.  The pineapple was just so-so.  Didn't really add much but it also didn't take much away.
